I just download and try it, and it seems to be a nice polished work (introduction, cat'art, lot of details, ...). I play a lot with the original version on my 464 when I was young... and I must admit that I loose all my skills! So, for the moment, I'm bad. But it's very cool to see a new big release by a team of 3 "newcomers" (even if I know that you are all older than me :) Congratulation guys!

There are still the attribute based artefacts, which is normal, because it is still the good old speccy engine. This is really a "different" game compaired to the old CPC version. It is a lot Faster... So a lot harder. I tested it on a real CPC but my girlfriend was here...no way to spend the whole night on it. Will do this weekend. The music are quite good but on the CPC small speaker, it is not as good as it could. I suggest to use a stereo speaker with good basses. Still searching what best joystick/paddle will do the best performance, sadly my speedking is in 1 button only. perhaps a mouse from the USB mouse adapter by Bryce ? would it work ?

Wow! A great use of cat'art for a game. I am impressed by the quality of it even before the game starts. Intro screens, great main screen, many options. Old CPC games just had a black or simple screen with few options or just start game. This is my thought for modern CPC games, a great menu with more options, difficulty settings, sound menu, etc. This is great! I was never as good in R-type, lost several times in first level (especially since the movement jumps some pixels and things go too fast) and then tried the casual mode. That's a better way to see all the levels and not worry about loosing and having to start again. It was worth the wait. Congratulations!

| For what I have seen for the moment, the release is rather well-polished! I'm not a R-Type specialist, I find the game has a very dynamic action. Well done for a speccy port! :) | |

Great musics, graphics that don't stink, frenetic action... That's a well-rounded conversion that honours both R-Type and the CPC. I also like the fact that the Easter Egg team chose to push the envelope, embedding quite innovative aspects for the CPC. The highscores catart is a smart idea, the game tutorial is neat and the casual mode is very useful for a weak player like me ;)

Nicely done! R-Type was one of the first games I owned on CPC, and one of my favorite. So I was very impatient to discover this remake. The introduction is very well done, congratulations! And what a pleasure to play in 16 colors with a background music! Thanks to Easter Egg for this wonderful prod :)

I love your CAT :) Nice flip picture at the begining too ;) Some smooth gfx & sfx. The game is too hard game for me (I assume), so I guess it is as hard as necessary !

Hello, This game is intended to be played like arcade does... With the 25 years old connector located on the left of the computer. :) For convenance, we add two keyboard keys mapping: - For 6128, the same as MAME. (best mapping ever for arcade games) - For 464/664, you may use ZX to fire and f-keys to move (F1, F2, F3, F5) Cheers.
