I think a good surprise for the whole scene was to actually discover the Amstrad CPC.

It was often looked at like some sort of clumsy speccy clone, quite understandable considering the mass of lazy speccy ports games...
who gave a bad rap to the format.

To see the Disk Drive is good and manage to load while displaying (like 16biters) and the 128K config can really help this supposedly poor Hardware (just heavy on video...), and to see that having 27 colours instead of 15or 16... and to see the power of true Full screen in 24K...

The AY is well known to speccy and ST and even MSX scene too so could also benefit from the retro tear factor from the scene..

the "flying Z80 chip", "gotham rotating skyskrypers buildings" and "blue fast rotating full screen batsymbol" sequences are the sort of stuff rarely seen on a C64 or Speccy, looking more like Amiga/ST stuff IMO.

The C64 scene know the poor rotating Batman logo version... So, that can help to understand the gap! XD

Nice to hear there might be a Vanity demo soon!

Also, not every demo has to be a Batman killer. If everyone would strive for a Batman killer we wouldn't see some smaller nice productions and less demos per year would be released. I sometimes prefer to see more smaller and less good contributions in compos among the better and awesome ones. My personal view for my demomaking experience is to try to do what I can with my limited time (yeah, deadlines :P) even if it doesn't turn so good as I've wished, at least I feel like I have contributed something in the scene. Maybe I'll do better with time and more experience in the future.

And yes, I bet that the Vanity demo might still kick ass, even if they claim it not to be a Batman Killer :)

p.s. And great to hear, there could be a possibility for another batman group demo, because of those unthought effects :)
